Meeting Your Need

In a basic sense, all that businesses have to sell is knowledge. We are willing to pay others to benefit from knowledge on how to build a building, to make our car run again, or how to live a healthier life. To remain competitive in our business we need quick and easy access to knowledge of all types.

Having the need for specialized training for a relative small group of individuals is the circumstance that motivates organizations to provide their own training. Finding a cost effective way to deliver this training is challenging. Traditional methods of seminars, workshops, video programs, or printed training programs are expensive for either the organization or its individual members, as well as difficult to coordinate from a time perspective.

Additionally, management has need for access to specialized knowledge to stay effective. Estimates indicate that greater than 90 percent of businesses in the United States have fewer than twenty employees. Managers in these organizations are frequently called on to fulfill roles for which they have little or no experience. A centralized source of meaningful information would assist in more rapid deployment and achieving a higher level of effectiveness.

Our service will be targeted at two markets: a public market for the general public to access business topics; and a restricted market for organizations who wish to educate a small group of specific people. Courses from both markets will enjoy the same look and feel making it easy for students to take courses from any location on our site without having to reorient themselves.

Access to a specific course will require the student to provide both a student login and a course login. Once enrolled the student will have a single student file and transcript reflecting all completed courses from any area of the site.

Courses may be taken for information only purposes; to receive continuing education credit (ceu); or in some cases for academic credit. The cost for the course will depend on which of these objectives the student is seeking. Courses taken for credit will reflect the fees associated with the issuance of that credit.
