Course Quality
Several elements combine to produce quality course material. Certainly, valid and meaningful data is at the core. But, the information must be easy to comprehend as well. Our approach is focused on providing the best of both.
Content Quality
The content of each course is developed by a known and recognized subject matter expert in the field. Each subject matter expert is carefully reviewed to determine their suitability to develop content based on their academic and professional credentials, as well as applicable experience. This information is available to the prospective student before enrolling. As a result, relative quality of the content can be evaluated prior to the purchase.
The content focus will be on what is generally accepted as the standard body of knowledge for the given topic. It takes a significant amount of time for theories to be proven effective and to find their useful place in the broader environment. Our courses will allow the student to understand the topic's relationship to the environment and to apply it immediately.
Content Clarity
Prior to being accepted as a subject matter expert (SME), the SME will be required to take our training orientation course, regardless of that person's content development experience. This course will acquaint them with our methods of course design and the mechanics of producing a course for our system.
Subject matter experts who have completed the orientation course will then work with our staff content developers to create course material that is easy to understand. Our senior content developer has over 30 years of experience in writing procedures, training, and developing online information systems.
Course Delivery
The platform for delivery of the training must be robust enough to handle the broad array of training tools that make for a quality learning experience. Most online training sites are basically business-oriented website environments that are not suited to the activities of an academic experience.
To maximize the academic experience, a platform developed specifically for academic activity is required. Building on the millions of dollars of research and development spent on developing such quality environments, we have selected the Moodle platform for our content delivery. As of July, 2010, Moodle (founded in 1999) had a user base of over 54,000 registered sites with over 38 million users in 216 countries.
Using the Moodle platform we can provide training material that involves a greater variety of learning opportunities. We can provide the student with text material, video examples, audio presentations, and outcome assessment (through both a final exam and unlimited practice exams). Students will also have access to their transcript so they can have verification of their ongoing training activity.
